Im so glad my contract is now finally up with this Classles Company im planing to switch to att not to get a iphone but hopfully some day down the line i still got a fairly new ipod touch i would like to see whats your guys thoughts on this article

"eventually get old" is quite different from "take a shot at somebody's health", isn't it?

Maybe some mac people think SJ is god and will never get old, but i think the quotation itself actually indicates the high respect the guy gives to SJ. who I think is a master in marketing and brainwashing

yeah i know he will but i just think how he said it was kinda sleezy and wasnt very professional coming from a ceo

Or, perhaps by "old" he meant "out-of-favor" as Daring Fireball suggests. Like Jelly Shoes and Jarts, the appeal of Apple with Jobs at the wheel will eventually fade. All Verizon must do is ride out the trend, like a lobster boat in a Nor'easter.

This explanation honestly makes more sense than either "Seidenberg is making fun of Jobs' possible illness" or "Seidenberg is making fun of Jobs' age." Think about it -- it's possible (unlikely) that Jobs could lose favor with Wall Street very soon. Wall Street is notoriously fickle. That makes much more sense than any interpretation where a CEO of a major company would go to the Street and say "Our plan is that in ten years, our competitor will be out of the picture." Wall Street doesn't wait ten years for anyone.
