Hi team,

After I’ve changed power supply for imac 2009 21 inch I got this on my screen .. see the pictures:

What could be broken : my gpu, the v-sync cable or the display?

Regards

Try reseating the LVDS cable. You will need to take out the LCD panel again, so you can reseat the LVDS cable where it attaches to the back of the LCD panel. If that doesn't help at all, then it's possible that the LCD panel has failed.

Are you sure about the power supply that you replaced? I don't recall seeing a faulty power supply cause a video issue like those vertical lines. A power problem would usually not give you anything more than a black screen.

Also, double check the video chip, by connecting an external display. If you get working video on an external, then that should eliminate the video card as the problem. (When you have everything out, you could also make sure that the video card is fully seated, too. There is a tiny two-wire cable that runs from the video card to the logic board, so check that connection is good, too.)

Looks OK.

Now that you know the video is working, if your internal display does not start working after reseating the LVDS cable (both ends), then you should be fairly sure that the LCD panel has failed.
