So my cousins iMac got the dreaded vertical lines in his iMac screen the other day. His is really bad though. There are 3 thick white vertical lines in his screen. It started out with 1 white line then it became 2 and now it's 3. He's out of Apple care so I don't think taking it to the Apple store will do anything, unless Apple has acknowledged the problem of course. Have they acknowledged this problem, I tried looking but came up with nothing. Anyone know?
It's pretty much unusable. I'm typing this message right now from a safari window that's squeezed to fit in the left side of the screen.
BTW his iMac is a 17" Late 2006 C2D.
