Cheers, this keeps happening: I import raw shots from Sony a6500 into Photos and the ones shot in vertical mode always open tilted to one side (thumbs appear correctly). Once opened and corrected on orientation, they rotate to the other side in front of my eyes on their own, and once corrected again, stay corrected. This is quite a bizarre behavior, especially considering that most cams record correct orientation info in meta of the file and none of this should be even happening. Back to the Stone Age. What am I doing wrong?

  • Disable iCloud/iCloud Photos.
  • Make sure to have current full backup of your library.
  • Then launch Photos with the Option+Command keys held down to repair the library.
If you leave iCloud enabled and do a repair it will trigger a new, complete upload of all photos which will be time consuming.
