Vertical viewing angle on LED MBP 15"

I have a 15" LED MBP that is near-perfect, except for the vertical viewing angle. The screen is evenly illuminated, with perfect color - but the vertical viewing angle is insufficient. If I look at the screen so that the top is bright, the bottom appears dark. If I look at the screen so that the bottom is bright, the top appears dark.

Is this just a limitation of laptop LCD screens, or is there something wrong with mine? My PowerBook G4, Thinkpad T42P, and Latitude D620 don't exhibit this problem.

My ThinkPad X60 exhibits this to a slight degree. My LED MBP is about the same for vertical viewing, but has worse viewing angles horizontally.

I looked at the LED MBP for the first time and was very impressed.

Didn't see any difference really between the old fluorescent one and LED (bearing in mind I had the two side by side for comparison) apart from brightness and that there wasn't grain on the LED one.

I didn't see any yellow tint, and the viewing angle was perfect, vertical, horizontal.

Maybe Apple saved the good MBP's for the Scottish

The vertical viewing angle isn't great. That's just how they are. If the screen isn't positioned quite right it can be really noticeable, but mine has a nice stiff hinge so I can normally get it just right. I to tend to adjust it again, though, if I'm working on something right at the top, or the bottom, of the screen for a long period.
