There are two ways to do so:

1. 877 card

It works likes TurboSIM


2. SilverCard
You can program it yourself.

hmmm... i've just hooked the site into Babelfish, from what i can gather this is untested?

anyway, i'm getting real keen to actually use my iPhone as a phone - so where do you actually buy the 877 card from?

i tried to look on their site but got distracted with the iPhone Beer link on the forum. iPhone + Beer... what?! haha.
