Hi,

I've only gotten my iBook G4 12-inch a couple of weeks ago and it was working fine. However, when I tried start it up awhile ago,the screen is extremely dark even though it is working.I had to squint to try to see my desktop even though the brightness level is at the highest.I even reset the Power Management Unit but there isn't an improvement. Please help. :(

From what you describe it might have been what happened to my powerbook. The backlight(el) went out. Basicaly there is a faint picture and if you hold up a flashlight to it you can see the picture better. My advice is to find the VGA connector find another monitor and make sure everything else is still working.
The bad news: If it is the above that is the problem, and you don't have the applecare the replacement is spendy. However with applecare i got my powerbook back in 3 days. Hope all goes well
Joe

It was cold. But I let it on for about 10mins and still no improvements. So I should leave it running for an hour to warm it up?I do have an applecare replacement thingy,I guess I'll just get some help with that.
