Very happy with my new Macbook!

Hi everyone, I'm new here! I was an heavy PC user who liked to upgrade it with new GPU, CPU, Motherboard... Most of the time it resulted in compatibility problem between the different parts and it took me literally hours to remedy to these problems. I bought my Macbook yesturday and it was also my first try on OS X and god I love it! Everything is so simple and intuitive, you don't need to do 15 clicks to do what you want, there's always a shortcut or an option to do what you want... Also the iSight is simply awsome! I had a Logitech Orbit MP (150$US) and the iSight quality is better in most condition! How have they managed to create a that good camera in a so small format? And finally, Front Row is one of my favorite part, it is as awsome as the iPod itself : stupid simple.

very nice state of the art little machine you got there. very modern, slick and elegant. enjoy...by the way, i have a 15" powerbook and im wondering how the 13" screen works out. i was looking at the black macbook and it seemed that the height of the screen was too small. how is it working out for you? do people usually use 13" monitors for the web and some iPhoto/iTunes computing? i cant imagine working in photoshop with a 13" screen. i want a macbook anyway but i think i might have to adjust my thinking and use it only for light computing even though the macbook is capable of a whole lot more when it comes to processor power.

I had a 17" LCD for my PC and, I noticed that the 13" Macbook screen is way enough for me... I think it has a better resolution than the iBook it replaces (not sure). The height is a little low but it is a widescreen, alot better when you watch DVD's on the go and when run apps like iTunes, I find it more convenient. It's a little small for Photoshop, but not too small. That screen is so bright and crisp that I can see details even if they're really small (if that makes sense).

ya that makes sense. have you noticed how fast the universal apps open? like iPhoto, iTunes. My friend has a mini and applications launch instantly. i dont know how much you know about macs but if you want to get as much processor power as possible (you probably dont need to worry about this with a core duo) you can go to system preferences, energy control power and set the processor performance to "highest".

I had choice between the 1.83Ghz Core Duo with Combo Drive (1 week delivery) and the 2Ghz CD with Super Drive (they had 2 in stock) so I took the 2Ghz. Then I bought some memory on TigerDirect.ca (1x1Gb) and a small backpack case. It is very fast.

As for performance settings, when on battery mode I set it to "Energy Saving" and when I plug it, on "Performance" setting.
