Hi,

Can anyone recommend some software that I can use to create some super simple animations? I'm talking stick figures, possibly a little more complex doing some movements/gestures.

I know Blender et al exist; but that seems way way way too complicated for such a simple need.

Thanks for thinking of me, @Weaselboy, but I'm not sure I'll be of much help. :)

I mainly use Blender, Adobe Animate, and Photoshop for animation/GIFs, but those are overkill.

Pivot Animator sounds perfect for your needs, alba_83… but it's Windows only. In a pinch, Keynote is free and lets you make rudimentary animations with shapes and export as video.

Actually, I just found a site where you can use Pivot in browser! Looks like you need to pay to save videos, but you can screen record as shown below.

If none of this meets your needs, try searching the Mac App Store with terms like "pivot" "animator" "stick figure," but I'm sure somebody has a free macOS app they use for simple animation.

I use Aseprite for pixel art
