very slow cd burning on new MBP

I just got a new 2.2ghz SR Macbook pro last week. Last night, I was trying to burn some cds from itunes for some friends. However, when I went to burn then, I was given very long estimated (and actual) burn times. Granted, the playlist was 19 songs, but should it really take 6-15 minutes to burn (first burn took about 6 minutes, second close to 15, third close to 9). If that doesnt sound right....what would have been causing it?

Try using Roxio Toast for burning.
