This isn't specific to the iP14 as it first happened on the 12 Pro when I updated to iOS 16.

When doing spotlight search, which I frequently do to pull up an app, it takes 10+ seconds for it to pull up the results.

For examples, I pull down to display search bar and begin typing M-A-P and at this point it would begin pulling up Apple Maps, Google Maps, etc. in the search results for apps on my device. Since I updated to iOS 16 (and migrated to iP14) this takes at least 10 seconds if not more. It's incredibly slow like the app indexing is a mess. If I go to the screen that lists all apps alphabetically, it finds them very quickly again.

This is driving me nuts. Has anyone experienced this and resolved it?

Agreed. Pre iOS 16, spotlight was very quick and search results would update upon every letter typed. Now, to your point, you type in the search term and you wait and wait and wait and then you see the search results. It’s a real sluggish experience.

I haven’t seen many people with this issue and so far, not resolutions. I reset my home screen (where it resets everything back to all apps, no folders or hidden apps) and that didn’t help. Based on some things I saw on the web, I also changed the language and back but it had no effect. I’ve seen a few people say they disabled search on every individual app but all said they left it that way ”a while” (days, weeks, months??) and turned them back on and it worked but that doesn’t sound like a promising solution and is a lot of work if it doesn’t work.

Small update...since I was trading in my iP12 anyway, I did an experiment and reset all settings on that phone. That fixed the issue. I may eventually do that on my iP14 to fix it on there too but that will be a lot to go into all settings to and get them back to the way I like them so still searching for a less invasive fix.
