Hi all,

Not sure where to post this, but since I have iTunes Match I thought I would post here...

I have been able to re-group all my music into the correct albums (thanks iTunes) with the mostly correct album art with one exception: the AC/DC complete collection, purchased from iTunes. Some of the songs are associated with the correct "original" album (i.e. Highway to Hell) and some are grouped under the "Complete Collection".

When I change the album title from :complete Collection" to the correct album name and group the songs under "Complete Collection", the album shows the correct songs but then the correct album art (i.e. original Highway to Hell album cover) is replaced with the generic "Complete Collection" art. When I go to "Edit Info" to delete the album art, it actually shows the original album art (sometimes - other times it just shows the generic Complete Collection art).

I have tried changing the grouping, sorting, composer, etc. I tried deleting everything, but there is no way to re-download as if you were starting from scratch.

Is this a metadata issue? Any way to correct this? I do have iTunes match but do NOT subscribe to Apple Music. Not sure if this has anything to do with iCloud music settings but I have tried updating iCloud music and it does not seem to help.

I almost have my iTunes library corrected - this is one of the last pieces.

Yo!

I've been having similar issues to this and I'm also new to iTunes Match.

For your issue I quit iTunes and then restarted comp and tried again and the changes seemed to stick.

I also had another issue where I had say one track from a complete collection and one from the original album. When I listed it as one album the tracks would be split into 2 albums but with same name.

I had to delete and then re import the tracks for it to work.

I've had loads of issues with iTunes match and I'm thinking about requesting a refund as it just keeps messing up my library and using wrong artwork one certain tracks.

I bought iTunes match because I wanted it to sync music so I can use it on my Apple TV but it doesn't seem to working at all. Apple TV match library seems to be missing loads of playlists or has missing titles. its weird!

Thanks for the reply. I've restarted iTunes but no luck. I'm letting it sit for a while and then will go back and see if I can figure out. I'll probably delete, re-start iTunes and then re-import.

I've learned a fix/trick with iTunes artwork that works only with iTM, never got around to posting it. It was quite by accident and driven by the frustration expressed here and elsewhere on the interwebs... The "fix" sticks about 99% of the time, and it's stupid simple.

I have my two iTunes libraries on a Mini Server, and use Match with one of them; the second library is an ALAC backup of my music collection. My main Mac is a rMBP that travels with me; I use iTM on my ATV, iPhone, cellular iPad, and rMBP (using my iPad to tether to).

I open up iTunes on my rMBP and Music on my ATV or iPad, each of which links to my library via iTM.

I find the offending incorrect artwork OR music with missing artwork on my rMBP and ATV/iPad; some albums have partial artwork. For the incorrect/partial artwork: on the matched rMBP, I clear the artwork and wait several seconds and watch on my ATV/iPad (for verification, following) for a "hiccup" (a screen redraw) and watch the artwork go either blank or get replaced by Apple's artwork. Then, on the rMBP I paste a suitable JPEG image into the album artwork field, then watch for the "hiccup" - 99% of the time I see the image I pasted on my rMBP propagates to my other devices, including the Mini Server.

For the music that didn't have any matching artwork, I simply found the music on my matched rMBP and ATV/iPad (again, for verification), pasted suitable artwork on my rMBP and waited for the artwork to propagate to my ATV/iPad. The propagation usually takes only a few seconds, depending on network connectivity. Again, this works about 99% of the time - I've changed artwork on dozens of albums this way, and they've stuck for several months. I still get the generic Apple Artist artwork, tho', regardless.

For those with one Mac, create a new user account, enable iTM in that new profile and don't sync to the local music library, and follow the relevant steps above. Good luck.

check the parameters of the songs, ensure there is no trace of the complete collection or marked as a compilation, playlist, etc.
When iTunes sells complete collections, theyre essentially a playlist and don't give you the individual albums very similar with complete TV show collections, which is a pain in the ass and dumb....considering you buy a movie collection you get the individual items.

hopefully that helps.
