So i've got an iPhone on an o2 network (which comes with free unlimited access to "The Cloud" Wifi company), the problem is The Cloud use MAC authentication to make sure you're using an iPhone.

I'm wondering if its possible to clone the MAC Address of my iPhone, to the Airport on my MBP?

There is an app for jailbroken phones...but I for one don't have one (a jailbroken iPhone, that is).

To spoof your MAC address head over here. Looks like a few changes under the hood in Leopard have complicated things but...this code
Code:
sudo ifconfig en1 ether aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff
seems to work. (where aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff is the new MAC code)

Good luck...I make no promises but it's worked for me in the past...haven't had to use it in a looong while though.

Yeah I know of the tethering, but im interested to see if this is possible too. I know you can spoof a MAC address easily, Im just curious if anyone else has done this and had some success?

thanks ubermac, jus found something along the same lines as this earlier, guess i'll test it out with the iphones mac address!

MAC addresses are product-specific and unique. I'm not certain of the legality of what you're doing, anyway. Isn't there a jailbroken tethering app?

Just FYI: changing the MAC address of a NIC is completely, 100% legal. I have no idea why (other than years of corporate conditioning) people seem to think otherwise.
