Very strange behaviour- 6s

My 6s is displaying occasional very strange behaviour at least once or twice a day.
Sometimes when I touch an icon to open an app, the app doesn't open but recorder does. Yes, really. I know it sounds strange but recorder is buried away in a folder so it's not an adjacent touch thing.
I really don't want to reinstall 9.3.5 from scratch...

Anyone seen this, or something similar?

Fresh install - still under warranty if it's not fixed with fresh install.

Recorder? You mean voice memos open somehow? Or are we talking about something else?
