Right now I am using an iMac G5 20" (pre-isight). I am wondering can I use the VESA mount for the iMac 24"?

Reason I am asking, I am not sure when the next iMac 24" Black (if ever) will come out with OS 10.5. Seeing I am moving I am hoping to be able to wall mount my iMac G5 until the new iMac 24" comes out.

Seeing I do not want to get the VESA for the iMac G5 than couple months later I get rid of it seeing it wont be compatible with the 24". I was planning on using the one from the Apple store. If you know of any other kits please suggest them.

Thanks!
:)

it works only with the 24" iMac. probably due to a size difference.

shame they don't sell the other mount anymore it seems. :(

VESA mounts are sized to an industry standard, usu. either 75 x 75 mm or 100 x 100 mm. The iMac requires an adapter, but the VESA mount can come from ANYWHERE. The biggest consideration is the weight being supported.

Just Google for VESA mounts. Lots out there.

maybe I am missing something, but are you saying that you want to use the table top stand for the 20'' iMac on the 24'' iMac? The reason I ask is, well first off it was pretty unclear, but second would you think about buying a vesa mount or arm that would hold it up? or is the whole goal not to buy anything new?

I'm using a wall stand.

I found a wall stand that will hold the 20" and 24" so thats good. I just need to find the right VESA that works on a 20" and 24" vice versa so if I dont get my 24" in time i can still setup the 20" until the 24" comes

Isn't the problem getting an Apple adapter to add VESA to the computer side of the equation? The wall side is easy enough, sure.
