i am trying to run my macbook through my LCD TV, i have plugged into the VGA socket on the tv using a vga adaptor but its saying no signal, is this the right cable to use? i have somewhere a dvi to vga cable, is this what is needed?

HELP!!!

ok, so, to simplify, what do i need to do to view my macbook on my lcd tv?

is it as simple as plugging in a vga cable, or am i doing something wrong?

mini dvi to vga, plugging it in , selecting vga source on tv but nothing, maybe pointing towards faulty vga cable, would have thought was fairly straight forward

It could be the cable, but have you gotten any other VGA components working with the TV? Maybe you just haven't mapped your inputs correctly to use the VGA signal?
