Alright, short intro. New iPhone user, just got a 3GS.

Anyways, been messing around with it for a day, and being used to how easy it was on my old phone and not being able to find it on this phone, I need a bit of help. How do you set it to not play a ringtone and only vibrate when you receive a call, when silent is off? I tried putting the bar all the way down, but I can still faintly hear the sound. I just want it to vibrate only when I receive a call. Any help ?

What do I do there ? I set both Vibrates to on, and the ring volume to zero, but I can still faintly hear the ringtone.

You may find a "silent" mode

But if It's on silent, then if I run any apps, the volume is off. I want it like any phone. Everything has sounds except when you receive a call, it vibrates and plays no ringtones.

i don't think this is possible on the iphone. Frankly, I didn't even know this was possible on any other phone, never found any need. I mean, did you absolutely need to have the sounds for a game or something? Otherwise I don't see why you can't just leave it on silent mode.

I have a silent ringtone that I use for calls from people I don't want to talk to anymore. ;)

You could use it as your default ringtone. Go to myxer.com and search for "silent ringtone." They have an iPhone-ready option that's easy to download into iTunes.

Edit: Here it is.
