After upgrading my iPhone 7 to iOS 11 I’ve noticed that when I hit the vibrate switch to put the phone in silent mode, it doesn’t vibrate or show it’s been put in that mode right away. It usually takes about a minute or so before the vibrate icon comes up and then it will show ringer again and then go back to the vibrate. The phone also still makes typing sounds etc like I never hit the vibrate switch. This is a few week old phone as well so not sure if it’s the phone or the software. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue.

Thanks!

Any action on the vibrate switch on my 7+ is instant. It’s possible it’s a software bug, but through out the entire 10 developer beta builds + GM + 11.0.1 + 11.1 beta 1 I never experienced or saw anyone else mention them experiencing that in the forums. Which to me point your issue towards something hardware related.

For some software troubleshooting solutions:

You could try rebooting the device (press and hold both the sleep/wake button + volume down button until you see an Apple logo)

If that fails you could also try resetting the settings. Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings (not to be confused with Earsse All Content and Settings)

Thank you for the response. I definitely think it’s a hardware issue. When it’s in the ringer position it’s not affected. I also tried all the reset options along with restoring from scratch. Still no luck.

FWIW, I actually saw the same thing on my 7Plus after upgrading to the 11.0 GM. It came and went. I haven't played around with the 7 Plus since getting the 8 so I'm not sure if it's still doing it, but it may not be a hardware issue.
