Ever since my YouTube app updated yesterday (March 1st) there has been no more "Recently Uploaded" or "Recommended" or any other kind of category. It's just a long list of larger thumbnails and no mention any of the above things and also they stripped out how old the video has been on (like 4 hours, 1 day, 2 days, 1 week, 1 month and so on.) Making it even harder to figure out if it's a Recently Uploaded or a recommendation of an old video. (See screenshot)

What I'm wondering is. Has everyone who updated YouTube yesterday also seeing the same thing? Is this the typical A/B kinda thing where some get one update and other get a different one?(This has been on my iPhone 6. My iPad Pro, same update has been fine)

I'm running the latest update with a iPhone 6s Plus on 9.3 Beta 5 and not having this issue.

One says theirs doesn't look like my screenshot, other says theirs has looked like my screenshot for quite some time. Mine in the middle, changed after March 1st update.

Silly Google and their A/B rollouts. Putting everyone on basically different versions at different times.

That's really how a lot of the A/B testing and gradual rollout of features often works for quite a few companies that do it.

Yeah I know a lot of app companies use an A/B type system. My title suggests I got stuck on the cruddy version this time around for YouTube. Nothing is broken down into Recently Uploaded, Recommended, Previoisly Watched. And so on. Plus it's no longer possible to see (without having to tap into the video and see) how long it's been up on YouTube. Which makes it even harder to tell what is recent and what's not.

I wonder if deleting and re-downloading has a chance of swapping between A/B.

i just force quit the app, deleted, redownloaded & its back to the way it was like a month ago, for now..

Deleting and re-installing worked. Thanks.

So it was either something gone funky with the update or it's A/B and deleting and re-installing can move you from one to the next.

How do companies enable A/B testing in app? Since we all download the same .ipa file from Apple's appstore which probably hosts a single .ipa file for a given app. Is it enabled during installation - randomly selecting A/B features? Wonder how Apple allows A/B testing given their strict guidelines and insistence on uniform experience for all.

Same here had the full width look then deleted and reinstalled and got the other look back.
