I love complex strategy games along the lines of Hearts of Iron, despite my absolute lack of time to play them due to my legal work - in any case, I was wondering if you would recommend Victoria 2, which looks similar to the HOI series.

I can see it comes from Virtual Programming, which normally makes excellent Mac ports - having said that, should I buy it? Tks!

VP makes good ports?
Crusader Kings 2 was unplayable on both my machines for the first few months after release, same with Kings Bounty. KB still have issues with missing textures from time to time, and you have to save and quit to get them loading again.
Witcher 2 runs at 1/3 of the FPS compared to windows on my systems too.

I've mailed them twice about issues and both time I got a generic response about reinstalling and other useless info.

The older 2D based ports are ok tho.

Feral and Aspyr has from my own experiences had much better ports and support that actually does care.

FlatOut 2 was excellent - I don't own the games above, though.

Fully agree with you that Feral is by far the best Mac developer - not the same with Aspyr in my view...

But what about Victoria 2?

Although many gamers are having issues on porting Vicky II, it works absolutely fine with me. I am a fan of the Vicky I and I could say that Vicky II is a lot more entertaining than before. If you want reviews on this game, try here:

Great, tks. Since I am a history buff and love to play with "what if" scenarios, I am going to buy it on the MGS (25% off these days).
