I was disappointed to see there was still no support for video streaming via Airplay for Verizon iPhones with this new update. Any word from the faithful on the availability of this feature in the near future. Is it an architecture issue between CDMA and others?

Its Verizon, they probably gotta find a way to charge for it first. In all serious now I suspect the new phone is just causing a bit of a traffic nightmare for these vendors. Give it time I am sure it will come about eventually.

Airplay: The Fix

Looks like iOS5 allows video streaming to the iPhone over your local network. If you have "Home Sharing" turned on, when you open the Videos App you can select "Shared". You'll get a list of all devices on your network that have home sharing activated. Choose the library you want and it will populate the list and you should be in business.
