Using Popcorn 3 to encode TiVo videos to my AppleTV, using H.264.

In some scenarios, such as using HandBrake to convert a DVD, a video bitrate of 2560 in H.264 is plenty, and in fact, a video bitrate of 3072 causes the AppleTV processor to choke when fast forwarding or rewinding the video. That does not happen with Popcorn 3 when you encode a TiVo file and use custom settings, going to 3072 for the video bitrate.

So my question is; does a video bitrate of 3072 really look very much better than 2560??

It's driving me nuts! I'll compare two segments, swear the 3072 looks way better, then later look again, and think they are the same... Thoughts?

Do a blind test where you don't know which segment was encoded with which bitrate.
