I'm looking at upgrading my MacPro 4.1 video card to a GTX 580. Does it matter what manufacturer I use (MSI, Asus, etc.)? Is it possible to overclock video cards on a mac?

Answer

In case anyone else comes across this thread, the answer is here. I didn't know such a simple question would stump so many people.

Manufacturer shouldnt matter at all. Just comes down to what you want to spend. I will say that I bought the evga gtx 570 superclocked model and it runs fantastic in my 1,1 mac pro. I also know that evga has fantastic customer support if you run into problems with the card. Also the card is pretty quiet as well.
