Video card problems in Windows 7

Hi all,

I'm running Windows 7 Pro on my MacBook Pro 15" 2.8 GHz late 09' and my problem is that the video cards are not working, because it has no drivers installed obviously. So the natural thing to do would be to visit nVidia and get the latest drivers (using a GeForce 9600M GT 512 MB btw) and install them to make it work. However, when I run the installation it tells me that nVidia couldn't find any compatible hardware for the drivers. Can anyone help me with this? I have been trying to solve this for a good 20 hours now without success peh.

Sorry, I have to ask, did you get the mobile version and not the desktop version of the driver?

I got the mobile version ofc, thats why I am so confused.

Ok from what I have gathered there is a widespread problem with Windows 7 not detecting your hardware and thus you cannot install the drivers for it either. It seems that depending on what card you're using there is a change it will work and for others it will not, sadly I think I'm in the "will not" pile.

However it seems like this problem is easily solved by installing windows XP instead of 7 because it seems like it is working rather painlessly on that operating system.

Have you tried running Windows Update? Often times it'll offer a very solid (but perhaps not the very latest) driver.

Or/And (again, sorry, but I have to mention it since I couldn't find it in your original post) you did run the Leopard/Snow Leopard DVD under Windows to install Boot Camp and its' drivers right?
