i am trying to connect to video chat with a friend who just got his macbook pro.

i have used video chat before with my cousin who has a mac. we both have .mac accounts and did the video chat via iChat.

now, for some reason, i cannot connect with my friend on his new mac. he does not have a .mac account, but uses his aol name on iChat. is this a reason why video chat would not work?

any help is appreciated

It will not work if his internet speed is less than 100mbps.
Also have him and you check parental controls under system preferences and make sure that you don't have anything blocked in there for iChat use.
