Before I switched to the Mac I had a Windows app called "Format Factory". It could convert between just about any video or audio formats and allow you to set the size, aspect ratio, bit rate, frame rate, crop part of it, or whatever else you wanted to specify during the conversion.

You could extract just the audio into a MP3 file, join video clips together, it seemed to have just about everything for a casual user like myself. I don't do anything close to pro video converting. Just dabble in a little video and audio for home use. Occasionally post on Youtube or Vimeo.

Do you have a similar favorite video app for the Mac? I've been looking through some on the App Store, haven't decided yet. I'm happy to pay for a good converter/editor similar to Format Factory.

Thanks
