Hey gang,

I was wondering if it was worthwhile (i.e. stable and increased performance) to download newer video drivers for my MP's X1900XT to use while it is in Boot Camp mode. I'm running XP Home in Boot Camp, using the drivers from the Leopard install disk. I tried Call of Duty 2 the other day at my monitor's highest settings (1680x1050) the other day and it was stable, although I did hear the X1900XT fans kick up a bit. I'm not a huge gamer, just do it for a change of pace every now and then.

Thanks!

I tried that same thing and had some weird problems show up when I used the Catalyst drivers from the ATI site. The FPS werent much better with those drivers, I was playing BF2142, Crysis demo, BF2 and COD 4.

I went back to the standard Leopard drivers and the weird issues went away.

That ATI card gives me soo many issues, it's not funny.

Basically, I can't set my external monitor to anything above 1152x720, I can't download and use the CCC or ATI drivers, and I can't use screen spanning, because it never comes out of that mode.

I really wish Apple would update the drivers for it, because the SUCK, but what else is new, you get a mac, you get a crappy video card driver.

I may as well have spend a grand on a macbook, and another grand on an uber gaming rig.
