Hi everyone.

Let me start by saying that my new Mac Studio M1 Max is an amazing machine.

However, I have an issue, and I am hoping that someone can help me resolve it, and that it's not my machine that's faulty:

Whenever I play video from youtube in safari, no matter what the resolution, the video momentarily freezes, randomly and quite often, however the audio does not freeze. It also does this on any app that plays video. I use a studio display, and I have tried removing everything except the Keyboard and mouse (the apple mouse, btw is very temperamental, and at the moment I need to use the track pad). I bought everything Brand New around 5 months ago. I have tried shitching everything off for around 1 hour and unplugging everything. I have a very fast 1000Mbps internet connection, but it does this when playing local videos too. I have 75% of the hard drive free. I have made sure that all apps are closed (although I would be very disappointed if this was needed in order to play video on a 2,000 Euro machine). I have even run CleanMyMac X and removed all the junk etc.

My Mac has the latest version of Monterey 12.6

There is no way that I can reset NVRAM and PRAM, so my only option is to ask someone in the forums if they can help. Is it possible that I have a dud machine?

My Studio doesn't do that, even with multiple videos open, unless the network is wonky. Are you connected wirelessly or via ethernet cable? I think there is some discussion around her about network performance.

Well, I contacted Apple support, and they actually fixed my issue. It was a setting in the multiple monitor settings. Great job for the support technician!

System Preferences, Mission Control, and I had to tick the box that says Displays have Separate Spaces. Did the trick!
They didn't actually find the error, though. They asked me to create a new user account and it fixed the issue. When I investigated it further, I found that the only difference was this one. When I corrected it on the original account, the problem went away.
