Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)

I've had my refurb rev A 1.8 ssd for 2 weeks now. I'm pleased with it but notice that there is a lot of stuttering and dropouts when doing video iChat. My white MacBook and Ma cbook pro have no problems on the same network. Any ideas?

Well first, are you on comcast?
I just did a video chat last night from the furthest room in my house (from my airport) and it was just fine. Rev B HDD model fwiw. Your processor is faster but the gpu is different from what I know.

If you're not on comcast download istat menus and check out your network in and out. See if you're sending and receiving more than you'd expect with iChat video.

With iStat menus you'll also be able to see the amount of memory you're using and whether or it not is maxing out when the stutter starts.

dunno my revB ssd works very well....

Yeah lots of help there.

I appreciate all of the comments. I have my white macbook, mbp, and Air all next to each other and have tried video chat with a friend in the next office. No problem with mb, and mbp, but the air stutters. I'm getting the same scores for all 3 laptops on speedtest (around 6000kbps). I have no idea what is going on? ichat's connection doctor shows the same framerate for all 3, but the Air's dl speed is much slower.

i (SADLY) have com-crap cable. WORST company in america to deal with.

that being said, besides the occasional pixelation ichat video runs fine. not much sure what other pertinent info there is, running a wireless-N network and pay the extra $10 to com-crap every month for the supposedly faster line.

Sounds like you might have regional issues with your Comcast High-Speed Cable Internet. FIOS is probably the fastest out here, but not available in all areas. Next option would be AT&T DSL 3.0Mbps (which truly sucks hind tit) and then there is Comcast 16.0Mbps (I'm averaging 21.1Mbps), so basically slapping the competition around at will.

Video iChat has been totally awesome and flawless on all of my Macs; I enjoy running video chat on my Sony Bravia LCD 40" on a regular basis...
