Is there a way I can put all my videos/movies/shows in iTunes that are located on my external HD? I have my music all on my internal HD and movies on the external one. when i try to drag them into itunes it moves them to my music folder. can i have the vids located on the external HD and still have them organized in itunes or will i have to move all my msuic to the external HD to do so?>

Did you even bother looking in the Preferences before making this post? In less time than it took to type the original post (or this reply) one could find the answer right there in the Preferences. :(

Indeed, there's a preference to do exactly this.

Or, here's a fancier, if more time-consuming, alternative:

Get QT Pro (it's nice anyway). Now open each of your videos and do a "save as", and make sure you save as a reference movie. This creates little movie files that are linked to the originals.

Now drop those reference movies into iTunes and let it go ahead and copy/move them into your library--it's ok, since they're small. Now you've got your videos in there, and you can add metadata to them without messing with your originals at all.

yeah i found it in prefs about 5 minutes after making the thread. itunes still doesnt know the difference between "music videos" and "movies" though.
