Hi I just bought the new video ipod on Friday everything is working well no scratches ***knocks on wood***. I just ordered the invisibleSHIELD for the Video iPod (30 GB). The only problem is the battery life, for some reason the the ipod doesn't come with an AC adapter so I have to recharge it on my iMac G5. I honestly used my ipod for approximately 70 minutes so far and my battery is down to the red. I downloaded 1 video so far I watched only twice. Also, I kept my computer on overnight to charge up my ipod and it doesn't charge all the way. I just need to know is this the way it is supposed to be or my ipod needs to be replaced.

the instructions recommend performing a full charge out of the box--you should see a charging icon on the ipod screen (battery with lightning bolt). i think the specs say a full charge should occur within 5-8 hours (can't remember exactly), so overnight should have been sufficient.
i wouldn't rush back to the store just yet. i'd recommend running the battery all the way down (keep playing a video) until it knocks out. then plug into your imac and confirm the charging icon appears, and hopefully see it go up to a full charge over time (see manual for specifics). once a full charge is reached, the icon on the ipod screen should change to a battery with a plug symbol. disconnect, and use normally, hopefully without future incident.
if no luck on the above, maybe dig deeper in support.apple.com, call an apple rep (you've got free tech support from 90 days of purchase), or visit a Genius Bar at a local Apple store.

It sounds to me like the issue you're running into is a non-issue -- By the sound of it, you played about an hour of video (before putting a full charge on the iPod.)
According to Apple, the iPod's battery is good for between somewhere between two and three hours of video playback, or something like 15 hours of music. However, if you're playing video, the battery goes pretty fast (due to all the hard drive access and the fact that the backlight stays on so long.)
As to the AC adapter issue... Apple no longer includes them with the iPod. It's now a $29 "Accessory." Ah, well. I can live without one.
