Thanks for sharing this. My 11.6" is being delivered today. Vids like this make the wait a little more tolerable. :)

Nice video. Personally, I'd just be happy seeing a 5 minute video of you surfing the web and opening some applications on this thing. I'd like to see how the new Air handles youtube videos and other flash sites.

The biggest thing I'm curious about is how loud the fans get, and how hot the bottom of the device gets after prolonged use. One of the things I love about the iPad is how it makes no noise and never gets hot. I'm really hoping this new Air is similar in those ways.

Nice video, except the pizza slicer lol

Got the same on order but with 4GB ram. I loved your slight pause of amazement when you first grabbed it out of the box :D

I agree that would be nice as well. As much as I like the opening and the photos, I would like to see the Air running apps web browsing anything I guess. So if someone could do that and post it here that would be nice, especially with the 11.6 please thanks!!

General thoughts:

Been using this machine for the past few hours. As it happens, i've got my feet up on the couch and got this on the lap. Its surprising how light this machine is. Seriously. I couldn't do the same with my 15" Macbook Pro. Nor could I be typing this on the iPad as im not a big fan of typing an essay on the iPad. The screen is absolutely gorgeous, better than the MBP. The black border is.... wait for it..... making zero difference to me, despite the uproar amongst some users.

This happens to be my first SSD based drive and im surprised how zippy it is. Really making me think I should get one for the MBP (that or either keeping this MBA for myself lol).

2 gripes I have so far, and I knew this would be the case before buying:
1) RAM is not upgradeable
2) No backlit keyboard

I'd happily pay Apple to make the MBA slightly thicker and have both of the above in. I can kind of see it from a business POV that this type of machine is not a type of product you want to be using modding etc (this is where the MB and MBP step in). But then again, backlit keyboards are crucial for travellers IMO. Anything which is going to make the experience better is good. Imagine typing on the plane (night flight) and having to switch on the overhead light. Its just an added stress. *annoyed*. Would have bought an MBA for myself if they had this backlit keyboard, no doubt.

Will keep you updated on any further developments on YouTube.

I couldn't agree more. I visited the 24 hour Apple Store last night. The mac book air is seriously thin (how thin is an understatement). I actually think its too thin. I'll gladly accept an half inch more if that means an IR port and SD slot will be available on the 11.6 inch model.

Spoke to the Apple store guy, unfortunately they don't have the 4GB models in store yet. They may get it at the end of next week :(
I will have to order it online. Booooo I can't wait that long.
