Seems alright, but I would feel flooded with all that information at once. The concept is simple, and I feel that's the only way it would work well. Unfortunately, though, people do more than certain commands on their smartphones. I have several tabs open at once in my web browser, music playing, and text conversations going all the time. If you conceptualize everything as just personally relevant information, then can't you also conceptualize current interfaces with apps being filters for that information? For example, Rdio is my music filter, Facebook is my social news filter, Flipboard is my political/technology news filter, etc. Instead of deluging users with all their updated information, a la Blinkfeed, iOS and Android give them more control and with apps to manage all that content and perform other functions like editing PDFs, tuning a guitar, read a book, search or review a restaurant, etc. Apps are often utilities, and the way you suggest seems to forget that a little.
