I'm a rather new mac user and I was faced with a similiar problem in the beginning. At first I used VLC media player to play the files, it plays pretty much anything you throw at it, but it doesn't really integrate with Mac very well. Then I installed DivX for Mac and XviD codec for Mac and pretty much all my files started to work in QT/Frontrow!

http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

For playback of WMV files, I had to install Flip4Mac, I think. Can't find the link for it though

Hope it helps! :)

There was a link to a flip4mac beta that supported intel posted somewhere on this forum. That's what I installed on my MacBook. I did a quick search and found a topic with a link to the beta version and the link seems to work. I believe it is the version I used on my Mac. I'm not sure, though.

Again, I hope it's of some use. :)

Video now plays but there is still no sound!! Anyone else have any ideas?

1) Have you go the sound off?
2)Make sure that the sound is up on quicktime.
3)Have you tried the video in VLC? maybe its the file that doesn't work?
4)It may be the fact that you need another codec? I will have to think about this!
