iPhone 8/Plus Video quality difference, any comparisons to the 8 plus?

I've had the 8 plus since launch (didn't want the X as I've been burned too many times from first gen hardware launches) and I've seen tons of blogs with still camera comparisons to the new phones (not much difference) but I'm most curious about video. I've heard anecdotal statements from people who claim it's better but part of that has to be viewing things on an OLED screen.

Does anyone know where there's some apples to apples comparisons between the 8 plus and say the XS max? I may sell this phone this fall while it still has resale value and I'd like to get an idea if it'll actually be noticeably better in that department. Thanks!!

The opposite is true. You can't judge the video quality by looking at the back of the screen. You'd need to actually see both videos on the same monitor (and one that's in 4k or higher).

You literally said go to the apple store because recorded video's wont show you much. That's completely wrong and backwards.

It could hold an Iphone XS in my hands and my iphone 8plus at the same time and record video. It does me no good to play them back on the phones. The XS is going to *appear* better because it's being played on an amoled screen.

I'd need to have video shot from both devices in the same environment, copy those video files to a computer, then see them on a calibrated monitor. Exactly the same with photos. Hence asking if anyone has actually done it yet.

That's what I was going off of. Could have simply said you wanted to know video quality differences based on resolution/camera than screen technology, if you're playing it off-phone (LCD/OLED wouldn't matter anyway obviously)
