Does anyone know of an app, jailbroken or otherwise that can record video and have an option to email the resulting video?

I've found a few, so far none offer the ability to email.

iphone video recorder seems to have the option there, but it doesnt work, only upload to youtube works.

Thanks

i've been using the app 'ishare'. it allows you to send the video up to them, then it send an email with a link to download the video to whoever you want.

use cycorder, and then navigate to Root> Var >mobile >media >Videos in mobile finder. Then you can mail it (I think under file) after selecting the file in that folder.

Are you using the trial or retail of iphone video recorder? I've just emailed them to ask if the email issue is a trial restriction or a bug.

Did you get confirmation its a trial issue? I am in fact still on the trial mode..

Thanks for the info...

Had no reply yet, but an update has apparently been released which fixes the email issue. I'll report back when I get it installed.

Edit: function appears to work now!

Yeah i did some testing with it as well.. very nice that it is working :)

Not bad, here are some of my findings:

I tried both mp4 and mov file options, i really couldnt see a huge difference in quality when just changing the quality option (not resolution), which is good.

For mp4:
-roughly 2.8mb for 30sec clip was needed at lowest quality settings (max resolution).
-mp4's couldnt be sent to att non iphones (via #@mms.att.net)
-the 50% brightness setting was too dark, had to increase to around 70% to be near equivalent to mov
-couldnt send to #@vzwpix.com (SMTP error bounced back)

For Mov:
-roughly 5.5mb for 30sec clip was needed at lowest quality and resolution
-movs COULD be sent to att non iphones (via #@mms.att.net), but with the limitation of about 3MB, which would translate into about a 15sec max size clip
-couldnt send to #@vzwpix.com (SMTP error bounced back)

**Update: Comparing to cycorder..
Cycorder 30 second clip used 10.7mb of space and was a little on the dark side.. so far Video Recorder 3G is preferred..

Of course, either can be sent to email addresses that aren't phone destinations.

Btw, there is a master list of MMS addresses for other carriers here:

iPhone Central: Sending and receiving MMS on your iPhone, with a little help from your friends

Good findings markm75: have you test cycorder in the same way? Just wondered if you thought this was worth the cash?
