Video stuttering over network

I am attempting to watch a video on my Macbook that is stored on my imac. My home network is an Airport Base Station N.

When I watch this on itunes home sharing it is perfect. If I watch it using Quicktime X using the Finder to open the file on the iMac it stutters.

Why would this happen?
