The end stays open. There's no flap, no cover. Will collect dust, dirt and one side can get scratched up. I'd rather have something that closes somehow.
Otherwise looks ok.

I would choose the Radtech sleeve myself.. and it doubles as a screen cleaner. Although I'm sure your suede Waterfield sleeve is very nice.

Thanks for the video. I think I'd prefer the horizontal opening because it is easier to remove the MBA. The fit is quite tight initially but gets better over time.

$25 for bog standard shipping to UK or $55 with tracking, ahh now I remember why I have never used this company. Not denying the products are good, but they really need a European distributor as its never right to pay more for shipping than the product.

Nice thanks.. Just placed an order.
This will hold me over until manufactures ramp up production - and really give me options to choose from.

Ouch, never realised shipping was that much. Will pass feedback onto the rep and see what they say. Cheers for pointing it out mate

Yeah, there's been a few times over the years that I have nearly ordered from them but this has always stopped me. They are not alone as lots of american companies massively overcharge for european shipping (especially the options for regular air mail). Also most of them add the shipping to the product price to cover themselves on the customs sticker so you end up getting shafted for the sake of a $30 product it's just not worth it.

Just heard from the Waterfield rep for those outside US looking to order from Sfbags.com

We offer flat rates on shipping but can certainly ship suede jackets inside of a ship in a flat rate Priority Mail envelope for $15.
When going through the shopping cart you will need to select the $25 option but we will change your shipping price to the lower $15 and you will see this change when we e-mail you your shipping confirmation. Also a good idea to write into the Special Instructions Box on the last secure ordering page "Please reduce my shipping charge to $15."

They are very good about this. Even when I've ordered products to be shipped to the Seattle area, they've changed the shipping method if I've overpaid when there's a cheaper option that will get it here on the same day.

I don't recommend the SFBags sleeve at its current $25 price (plus ridiculous intl shipping). I had a thread reviewing it, too.

In fact, after a week or so of usage, I'm aching to go back to my free manilla envelope!!

Quite a few sleeves seem to have the open end. Same thing for the incipio ones and the waterfield sleeve jacket (not the case version). Though I've heard a few good words about them. Of course, these sleeves are meant to be put in *other* bags. So their protection is mostly to help avoid damage from other objects in the bag and scratch protection.

The video is wrong, though. He said "Bob's your uncle". That is incorrect. He's my dad. Seriously. :)

I have a mixed feeling about this. It is open, so that is my biggest problem. Looks like it will protect from scratches, but it has no padding.

Just bought this as there are virtually none available for the 11" in the UK.

OK, it is pink, but it is a perfect fit, gives good protection, velcro sleeve, and at £8 with free p&p a no brainer.

tut

tut tut indeed! Crikey, that is awful.

I would have the SFbag suede jacket to then put my MBA inside another bag for carrying. The open end doesn't bother me as it reduces bulk.

I have a large neoprene sleeve for my MBP, but there are fewer ports on the MBA and so the likelihood of contamination from foreign bodies is reduced.

The shipping is quite steep and it's good to see that they offer an alternative.
