So I recently got a 2012 MacPro and got a GTX680 for it. Trying to see if the issues I am having are normal. I have both a 30" ACD and 23" ACD hooked up to it.

In FCP7, I get pretty substantial tearing in my viewer window. Doesn't matter which monitor I drag it to, it's still there.

Also, when I do full screen video in youtube, vimeo, etc...my framerate gets really choppy, like 5-10fps choppy.

I have both monitors connected to the DVI ports, should I get adapters and use the DP and HDMI connections?

Any advice you be great. The video tearing is annoying. My other system is a 2006MP with an ATI4870 and I never had these issues, kinda sad.

It sounds like you are not getting any hardware acceleration at all and your card is only working in basic display mode (no QE/CI).

I'm not sure why your computer isn't recognizing the card and using the appropriate drivers. Are you running 10.7.5 or newer? Have you tried the Nvidia web drivers?

To know for sure, download glview OpenGL extension viewer

If it says "Apple Software renderer" you are in fact getting no actual use from 680.

If it says "NVIDIA GeForce GTX680 OpenGL engine" then card is using drivers and problem is elsewhere

I get these results.
