Video was locked on Note2 and I couldn't stop it?

I was watching a video I shot on my Note2 and there was a lock icon in the upper right corner of the screen and I could not pause, rewind or stop the video. The Home button did not work either. I was not able to do anything until the video ended and it went back to the Gallery.

Anyone have any idea why the video was locked and how you unlock a video?

When watching a video, pressing the lock button on the side locks the phone without switching off the screen to prevent you accidentally ruining your viewing pleasure.

To unlock, simply press the lock button a second time.

Simple, really.
