I have an M1 Pro MacBook Pro (10c/18c GPU 16GB RAM 1TB SSD) ever since I bought it a few months ago it's had this issue where whenever I'm watching a video and open or close another app the video will start lagging/glitching/cutting out audio. This also happens often when using apps like just scrolling Safari, but it can almost always be triggered by opening/closing an app. Here's an example when I was opening Photo Booth:

I checked Activity Monitor and there isn't anything out of the ordinary. What seems to be going on here? This is a powerful machine and is having difficulty with a very basic task. Never had this issue on my much inferior M1 iMac. I also often have cursor lag and the computer just seems glitchy and slow in general.

Thanks :)

My M2 Max MacBook Pro running Ventura is doing something similar. If I fast forward /rewind a lot searching for a particular part in a video, it will get jittery and I need to close the video and re-open. This does not happen when using VLC. VLC shows slightly darker video with different colors. I was going to make a new post about this. My old M1 Pro did not have any of these issues.
