View computer wireless on Tv.

I have a powerbook 17, would like to be able to wirelessly connect my powerbook to the tv, so I can view documents etc.

I want a freeview box that I am able to record on.

Is there anything I can purchase for me to enable to do this?

I don't remember what year a Powerbook 17 was. But anything older than 2010 I'd say furgitaboutit.

2010 - Use a thing call AirParrot.

2011+ U just need a copy of Mountain Lion

Pair those with a $99 Apple TV + HDMI cable and yer all set.

Thanks, I've got a new powerbook, I only bought it just under a year ago I think. It has Lion 10.7.5.

Thank you for your recommendation I'm looking into it. Must I upgrade to Mountain Lion. Reluctant as just getting used to Lion .

I think you're meaning to say MacBook Pro. Apple stopped making PowerBooks back in 2007, IIRC.

Before you upgrade to Mountain Lion, verify that your specific Mac meets the requirements to support AirPlay Mirroring.

One more thing.

If you have just 1-2 WIFI users at home, should be fine. More than that (busy airway) u may find stuttering/buffering on your Video, in which case either (1)U tell everybody to stop using the Internet while you are mirroring it, or (2)upgrade your router with a QOS capable one.

To work around busy airways, if u have a dual-band router u maybe able to dedicate the 5 ghz band to mirroring and leave the 2.4 ghz for everything else, without buying a new QOS router, but I have no actual experience doing this.
