VIP alerts

Ever since iOS 18.2 I have not been able to figure out or even get a notification for VIP alerts for Apple mail. I am struggling and really need this to work for my employment, I have tried everything and I just don’t know why I cannot get an alert. It seems like the settings have changed a little bit and that may be throwing me off, but I have tried everything. Could someone please help me?

Settings—Apps—Mail app—Notifications—Customise Notifications—VIP alerts,sounds, badges. Turn on.

Also in custom notifications turn on “all unread messages”

Neither is apple support

I'm having a similar issue, I want just notifications to be on for people tagged as VIP only. Can't get it to work, can't recall when it stopped working.

I was on apple support site and this looks to be an issue for several people
