In theory, will windows on virtualbox be running best on a quad or duo iMac?
Right now I am doing it on a 2008 MacBook and I must say it does put a strain on the computer to the point of being annoying.
I ask since in process of upgrading to iMac.

In theory the quad would be better since it leaves more cores available for other tasks.

Thanks, I guess I don't quite get the concept of multiple processors.

I sort of assumed that virtual box would occupy a whole core when running, but I don't know if it is the case - but if, the higher single core clock speed of the duo would be better?

If OSX functions as I hope, it will just distribute all calculations to all available cores regardless which program send the request, but I seem to remember that some programs didn't deal with such 'advanced' distribution, perhaps virtual box being one. Anyhow, in this scenario, the sum of processing power is of course greater and better in the quad.

Guess I'll just have to wait for the benches, but i am getting as impatient as all those waiting for their computers to arrive. Do hope some will benchmark Vbox/parallels/WMware soon.
