nah, I'm still using Team Viewer, I'm sure they will release a iPad version.

I'm waiting to get the free update to iTeleport from the iPhone version. The iPhone version is great, so this one should be even better.

And btw, it's called Jaadu, not Jaavu. ;)

And Jaadu is creating an iPad version of their Jaadu VNC. I've contacted them and I got a reply stating that they are. They wouldn't give me a release date, but I'm sure it won't be too much longer.

I need an rdp client that supports audio. I'm looking for a way to watch videos stored on my OSX file server.

Don't really want to spend $20 without knowing if it's what I want. Is there one that would handle this better than the others?

You want airvideo. Great app for watching videos from a file server. According to their forums there will be a free upgrade once the ipad version is available.

iTeleport question...

So can iTeleport trigger the Mac's Wake On Network Access feature?

It sounds like it would be perfect if it can wake my MBP from sleep mode. But since the server software on the Mac needs to run, I'm guessing it can't.

Does anyone know for sure?

Not sure if you are connecting with their server software, but if you use iTeleport to connect to standard SL screen sharing (VNC) which is built-in, then YES. It wakes my iMac every time I connect.

Heck, the wake on network access in SL works great for practically anything I throw at it. Even AirVideo which is a server process wakes when I connect.

Thanks. That helps. I wasn't sure if iTeleport used VNC or some proprietary protocol. I think I'll take the plunge and buy it.

I'm VERY happy with it. I wish it was a little faster on the screen refresh for Macs. For some reason the screen refresh on Windows boxes is much snappier. They outline a process to replace the standard SL VNC with something they say will make it better, but it's fast enough and I don't want the hassle.

Here are a few things I learned since I bought it:

1) Once you connect, hit your system preferences and change the screen resolution to 1024x768. Log out and back in with iTeleport. Much better when it actually matches your iPad screen size.

2) Three finger swipe up will hide the top menu bar. Another will raise the keyboard. The same swipe down reverses it.

3) I ended up going with the "big trackpad" method of control. Using my finger directly, while more intuitive, was more difficult. Fingers are just a lot larger than the tip of a mouse pointer. The other method of control (the default method) turns the entire glass into one big trackpad controlling the mouse.

Video streaming

Airvideo is great on the iPhone and they say they have submitted the iPad version to the app store. In the meantime, streamtome already has their iPad client out. It works similarly to air video and will do live conversion of any video type. Works over wifi and 3G (when 3G is available)

I've been using LogMeIn for over a year now on the iPhone, now on the iPad. I swear by it. I would highly recommend downloading their app for the iPad.

Earlier today I took the plunge and bought iTeleport for iPad. I am definitely not disappointed. It works very well, is very customizable, and connects much faster than other VNC apps I've used, especially iSSH.

Thanks for the tips, folks.
