As I'm not seeing a dedicated thread...

I did the uninstall via their script, also tried the uninstall via App cleaner.

Reboot into recovery mode, and execute csrutil clear and csrutil disable.

reinstalled both the 6.1.17 and also a beta 6.1.97

both end failing when trying to start a VM,

also noticed if you go file/host network manager/create then ti fails to create a local network subnet that you can tie a dedicated interface to.

hoping someone is having more luck, this is sadly impacting my work now.

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine WinXP.

Its kind of tricky. I had to do it a few times before everything 'stuck'. Mine actually broke from one beta to the next when it first rolled out. Up and running perfectly fine now. I grabbed the free VMWare license while I was at it, but ended up getting VB running again.

I'm trying the VMFusion route... problem is my license key's for all the sW that was installed on this VM, I've been using it as is for good on 10yrs now/stable... and Apple/Oracle goes and does this.... :(
bloody mess.
would be so nice if I can just click VBox install and it works again.

So that Vembu link misses/skips the what version of OVA to export as, I've tried 0.9, 1.0 and 2.0, with all three it complains about file format for storage devices.
The other link simply does not want to open, tried repeatedly.

For now I might he sorted, I used Parallels to build a Windows 10 VM, which I then pulled into VMFusion, once it worked I reinstalled (disgrace Visio 2003 that I own). and this time it was successfully online activated, so I can edit drawings again, aka boss happy.

was looking forward to parallels, look nifty but $69 vs $000 well those 0000's won that game, would prefer to get VBox working again, know my way around it... but until then it's VMFusion land.

That's odd. I have V6.1.16 and it tells me it's the latest version.
Could the failed install have something to do with the system preferences, privacy and security settings? I have a vague memory that I had to allow the installation via that.

It's not privacy and security, it does ask me, and I do approve.
I've tried V6.1.17 and beta 6.1.97

They have two dev branches you can download, one is the beta of the upcoming next version and the other is the down the road unstable branch with all the latest and greatest fixes.. Id guess .17 is the beta, and .97 is the unstable branch. Im running .16 too and just checked and yep, still the latest released version.. Sounds like he needs to go ask the VB devs at this point..
