All iPads Virus on iPad

Hello everyone.

So I accidentally clicked on a link in a suspicious text message. Immediately closed it out before it had a chance to load. But now there are all these files on my ipad. Please help.

Do I have a virus? Is it possible for an iPad to have a virus?

No such thing as a virus on a iPad or iPhone.

If you have a recent backup of your iPad before this happened, wipe the iPad and restore from backup. That will remove the files and put your mind at ease.

Ah, I have iCloud backup on. The backup already has these files. Should I factory reset?

If you didn't do a backup after this problem, you will be fine to restore from backup.

Its looks like it was trying to bombard you with a bunch of picture ads.

I don’t have one from before. I’ll have to restore it without a backup.

You could try manually deleting all the files but, if that were my iPad, I would wipe etc. just to know I cleared every possible problem.

I had a client that had a hacked iPad, or so it seemed. It kept bringing up random websites. They turned it off. ("You can do that?) And the problem went away. I still suggested they wipe it. They just used it for some email, and as an ebook reader. Everything reloaded fine, and they felt better. Always do what you think you need to make yourself feel better. Something sure dumped a lot of json on your iPad.

The reason both device were affected is because of the continuity feature (re: text forwarding).

Ah okay. Well, both are resetted and both (seem) to not have it in the Files app. I’m currently setting up the Home Screens. Thankfully, my Contacts have been saved. I don’t think my messages have, though. Which is for the best.
