A very odd thing happened on my ios9 iPad this morning. When I woke it up. I was momentarily greeted with an odd grey tone geometric image, almost like a puzzle from the game "Thomas". Then, when I went to see what background running app might be doing that, I double clicked my home button and tried to swipe up to dismiss all my apps. Well, there were TWO safaris running on me iPad. One of them I was unable to swipe p to dismiss. It was a mostly blank safari screen with a white background. On the "webpage" was a grey alarm clock icon and the words "Good morning Robert"!!! What the heck was that???

I force rebooted my iPad and e erything seems fine so far. Is this just an ios9 hiccup, or is it possible malware?

It's the new proactive feature in iOS9.
It knows that you usually use Safari in the morning, so it prepares that app for you.
Being that it was in the morning it sais " Good morning Robert".
In another example it would say: "based on your location" and might suggest Music, ect...

Sometimes it feels stupid, if you already listen to Music and it suggests music, but it's still in beta, right?

Oh, and that grey/white tab that you see in the app switcher is also how Handoff works between iOS and OSX

That would be a new Proactive app suggest feature in iOS 9. The second 'instance' of Safari which you could not dismiss was an app suggestion from iOS based on which app you check out once you wake up.

This post has something similar.

I think you can be concerned if your name is NOT "Robert". Otherwise, your iPad knows who "you" are - because you have set it up that way.

I think I remember reading that the "proactive" suggestions in search may not be available yet in all countries.
Maybe someone else will add their experience about that...
