This started today on the GasBuddy app. The first time I launched the app today it would direct me to the App Store (I wasn't clicking on the ads.) IPhone 6s iOS 10.3.1. Never jailbroken any iPhone in my life and do not download stuff from shady places/parties. Should I be worried? Is there an antivirus software I can use?

Nah, not a virus. Just a dumb ad going wild. Click "OK" and just close out of any Safari thing that pops up and you'll be all good. :)

Just a rogue ad doing a popup message. Hit Ok and you can continue on as if nothing happened. No virus :)

You're right! Asked Gas Buddy and that's what they said it was. GB will cancel the rogue ad.

I'd rather pay for an app than deal with ads.

Same but it really depends on the app. App makers don't like one time fee. Over time they lose revenue so they end up charging a subscription.

This isn’t quite so cut &dry. In the Facebook app, there is no way to see the article/link that this ad hijacks. Hitting the back button does nothing. Exiting the link to go back to the news feed and then hitting the link again repeats the hijack. There’s also no way to avoid hitting ok. It disables all other options. You have to hit ok and then exit back to news feed.

Seriously annoying as hell.
