I've been running my imac with a Dropbox folder trouble-free. I recently installed Dropbox on a pc and the folder sync triggered the anti-virus with many infected files.

I was thinking a good way to deal with this is to clean it from the mac side where the viruses aren't causing trouble. Can anyone recommend a decent mac anti-virus app that will do the job? Paid or free is fine.

Why not just let the Windows AV do its job and quarantine and delete from there? Basically same thing as what you want to do on the Mac side.

Or, let Windows AV quarantine, then look at the list it has, delete off Mac. Then clear quarantine.

This may be a false alarm. Looking closer, Windows Defender flagged every file placeholder (thousands). I am going to process this on a spare laptop and see how it goes after everything is fully downloaded.
